Dos Pueblos put six wrestlers in the quarterfinals at the Nogales Super Champs Tournament on Friday.
Armando Villegas (106 pounds), Cameron Cox (113), Nico Sorenson (120), Nico Martinez (145), Malcolm Cellard-Farrell (152) and Rudy Cortes (220) will wrestle in the quarters today. Yaskin Solano (170) lost on Friday and will compete in the consolation round.
The Chargers are in ninth place in the team competition.
In other DP wrestling news, junior Chad Lampe was invited to compete in the prestigious Doc Buchanan Meet in Clovis, which is considered a preview to the state tournament.
Lampe, wrestling at 120 pounds went 2-2 against the elite competition. He lost his opening match to Able Contreras of Porterville and bounced back to beat wrestlers from Downey and Brawley before being eliminated by a competitor from Central.
Lampe will rejoin the rest of the Chargers for a dual meet against San Marcos on Tuesday night.
