The 2012 Rincon Classic will not happen this weekend, and will instead hope for better conditions next weekend.
The Classic has a waiting period of seven weekends and has opted out of the first two weekends so far.
“Swell looks like it’s going to drop off rather quickly before reaching the weekend, under head high. Good weather/wind, but not much size and becoming really small by Sunday,” stated a message on the contest’s website.
Surfline forecaster Jonathon Warren helped make the call.
“Things are looking promising for the following weekend and we are praying for epic weather and Super Bowls for the Classic for Saturday and Sunday.”
