The Dos Pueblos boys basketball team lost to Francis Parker 62-40 at the Bennie Edens Classic at Point Loma High in San Diego.
The Bennie Edens Classic is hosted every year at Point Loma and raises money for a scholarship for selected student-athletes. Chargers head coach Joe Zamora is a former coach at Point Loma.
The Chargers struggled to stop Francis Parker’s star point guard Dalante Dunklin who has committed to play at UCSB next year.
Cruz Mertens led Dos Pueblos with 15 points, all coming from behind the three-point line. Devon Ray had eight points and senior Alec Rishwain gave the Chargers productive minutes and finished with seven points.
Dos Pueblos (4-10) will continue its season on Friday at Santa Barbara.
