Dos Pueblos recorded a 61-23 victory over San Marcos in the two teams’ Channel League opener on Tuesday, with the Chargers benefitting from three players in double figures.
Jessica Escalante topped the Chargers in scoring with 14 and added five rebounds and five assists. Chiara DiMarco and Jasmine Mata tallied 10 points each and Kristen Gowdy chipped in eight points.
The victory improved Dos Pueblos to 14-5 overall. After a non-league game with Pacifica on Saturday, league play continues for the Chargers next Tuesday at Ventura.
“We were just trying to tune up some things that we knew we needed to work on,” said Dos Pueblos head coach Jelani Hicks. “Those little things can either win us games or lose us games.”
