Bishop Diego put itself in the playoff hunt after a 3-1 Frontier League boys soccer win over visiting Grace Brethren on Tuesday.
Justin Brosnan had a goal and an assist to held Cardinals improve to 2-3-1 in league play.
“The chemistry was there,” Bishop coach Ivan Becerra said. “We had some great combinations going into the final third (of the field).”
The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute when Brosnan fed Johnny Ford for the goal.
Grace Brethren tied the score before halftime, but Bishop retook the lead in the 60th minute. Santi Bolag scored off an assist from Ford.
Brosnan iced the match off an assist by Luis Ortiz in the 75th minute.
“Brosnan has a great game,” Becerra said. “This was a big win.”
