The Bishop Diego girls basketball team could not find a way to keep up with the pace of Tri-Valley League juggernaut Oaks Christian, and lost 65-24 at home.
Greer Shull led the team with 10 points, and Charlie Fling hustled her way to four rebounds and three blocked shots.
The Cardinals stayed with their opponents at the start of the game, and the score was tied 6-6 midway through the first quarter, but Oaks Christian broke the tie and began to pull away.
“I was happy with our kids’ effort tonight,” head coach Jeff Burich said. “We didn’t put our heads down and look at the scoreboard.”
This game was a rescheduled match and Bishop Diego (7-8 overall, 0-2 league) will travel to Thousand Oaks for a rematch with Oaks Christian tomorrow.
