The Bishop Diego boys basketball team started strong at home against Kilpatrick and cruised to a 58-45 victory in its final preseason match of the year.
“The first 12 minutes was the best 12-minute stretch of the whole year,” head coach Dean Prophet said.
Elias Munoz led the team in scoring with 20 points. Reese Moulton had ten points, while Nolan Tisdale and Sam Kwock each had eight.
Kwock had one of his best performances of the season as he also had eight assists and seven steals.
“He was a good floor general out there for us tonight,” Prophet said.
The Cardinals’ great start led to a nine point lead at the half, and the team stayed disciplined and protected the lead for the remained of the game.
Bishop Diego (5-9) will start Frontier League play tomorrow at Grace Brethren.
