Josie McCoy hit a 3-pointer and Michelle Garcia scored on two fast-break layups to help rally the Bishop Diego girls basketball team to a 38-35 win over Fillmore in a Tri-Valley League game on Tuesday.
Down 27-20 in the third quarter, McCoy hit her only trey of the game to ignite the rally. Garcia came off the bench and made a pair of layups off fast breaks, as the Cardinals outscored the Flashes 18-5 the rest of the way.
“Our bench played well,” said Bishop coach Jeff Burich. “Colleen Duley, a sophomore, scored eight points off the bench.
McCoy led Bishop (8-11, 1-4) with 11 points. Daisy Poindexter grabbed nine rebounds and had five steals.
