Lizzy Beebe’s clutch shooting from the free-throw enabled Providence Hall to pull out a 36-35 girls basketball win at Thacher in Ojai on Wednesday.
Beebe tied the game with a free throw with 12 seconds left. The Lions then fouled and Thacher missed its two free throws.
The Lions threw the ball up court to Beebe, who was fouled with four seconds remaining. She made one of two free throws to win the game.
Sydney Hedges scored 14 points to lead Providence Hall (10-5), while Lacy Gonzalez and Faith Emerson added eight points apiece. Beebe scored four points, all on free throws in the fourth quarter.
“We started slow, but it was great to see our energy shift in the second half,” said Providence Hall assistant coach Andrea Trader.
