Dos Pueblos’ girls soccer team completed play at the Buena Tournament on Monday with two games, one of which turned out to be a 1-0 victory over Buena.
It was only the second time that Dos Pueblos had beaten Buena’s girls soccer team in the Chargers’ history.
Rachel Smith provided the goal for DP, finding the net from beyond the 18 after winning a ball and creating for herself.
Sophomore goalkeeper Alex Camarillo made a tough save late in the match to preserve the win.
The Chargers, who finished sixth in the tournament, played Oxnard in their second game of the day and lost on penalty kicks.
Sam Sander found Maria Solis for a goal in first half against Oxnard but the Yellowjackets were able to equalize soon after and won the game after regulation.
Dos Pueblos plays next in the Orange County Classic starting on the 27th.
