Carpinteria’s boys basketball team cleaned up its turnover problem on Thursday and it translated into a victory, as the Warriors committed only eight turnovers and won 53-37 over Santa Ynez at the Fillmore Tournament.
Too many turnovers had cost the Warriors in their previous two games but the big improvement had Carpinteria leading the entire game.
Andrew Sova led the Warriors with 20 points on 6-of-11 field goals. Kyle Millhollin recorded a season-high of 13. Kevyn Crocker and Jordan Robinson limited Santa Ynez’s top scorer to 11 points while Jeffrey Moorhouse was the Warriors’ top rebounder.
Carpinteria (1-2) moves on to play the winner of Fillmore and Faith Baptist on Friday.
