The Carpinteria boys soccer team won convincingly against Santa Monica at the South Torrance Tournament, with the game ending 3-0 in favor of the Warriors.
Brandon Landeros put Carpinteria ahead with a goal in the 21st minute.
The Warriors kept intense pressure on the Santa Monica midfield and backline, allowing little space for any sustained possession.
Carpinteria spent most of the match in front of its oppoenent’s goal, and had 13 shots in the match.
Late in the game, Omar Vasquez and Cameron Wagner scored goals in the 70th and 74th minutes to put an exclamation point on the Warrior victory.
Eduardo Garcia and Joey Gamez both played goalkeeper in the shutout win.
Carpinteria will be tested tomorrow as it will continue play in the tournament against Ventura, who is ranked ninth in CIF Division I.
