Thayer White notched his fourth double-double of the young season, but San Marcos couldn’t handle the height advantage Village Christian and dropped a 58-34 decision at the 42nd annual Bulldog Classic at Burbank High.
The Royals finished sixth in the tournament.
White scored 16 points and hauled in 10 rebounds against a Village Christian team that featured four players 6-5 and taller, including talented 6-7 sophomore Marsalis Johnson.
Johnson led all scorers with 17 points.
Village Christian blew the game open in the third quarter, outscoring the Royals 25-6 to take a 47-17 lead.
San Marcos is back in action on Thursday against Santa Fe Christian at the Coast Union Tournament
