Lauren Underwood doubled up Laguna Blanca on Monday, scoring two goals in two minutes in a 2-0 victory for Bishop Diego’s girls scooer team.
Underwood scored first in the 37th minute on an assist from Annalise Morando, and didn’t waste any time getting her second, making the score 2-0 in the 38th minute.
The Cardinals improved to 6-1-1 on the season in their fifth game in five days.
“I thought we played a decent game,” said Cardinals head coach Brent Gonsalves. “It was obvious to me that our legs were heavy and tired.”
Bishop Diego will get some rest before playing again on Saturday at Santa Paula.
“Overall, the girls – all of them – are playing well,” Gonsalves said. “I’m impressed with our focus.”
