Zoe Serbin carried Laguna Blanca’s girls basketball team to its first victory of the season on Thursday in a 34-32 win over Coast Union at the Bishop Diego Tournament.
Serbin was responsible for 23 of Laguna’s points total, and scored all of the Owls’ five points in the fourth quarter. The Owls came from behind to win the game thanks to a strong defensive showing in the fourth quarter when Coast Union was unable to score.
“We got off to really fast start and then kind of leveled out,” explained Laguna Blanca head coach Chris Foster about the first half.
The Owls held a lead until Coast Union caught the Laguna in the third quarter. Coast Union led 32-29 at the end of three quarters.
Laguna plays Cabrillo on Friday.
