Monday marked the season opener for Laguna Blanca’s girls basketball team, as the Owls fell to Orcutt Academy 34-24.
After losing five seniors, the Owls are starting two freshmen, two juniors and a senior.
“We played pretty well considering all the new-ness,” said Laguna Blanca head coach Chris Foster.
Zoe Serbin was Laguna’s leading scorer with 11 points and Marla Bonser added eight.
The Owls play again on Tuesday, opening up the Bishop Diego Tournament against the host Cardinals in their gym starting at 7:00 p.m.
