A sluggish first half gave way to high-scoring second one in a 53-39 victory for Oak Park over Dos Pueblos at the Ventura Kiwanis Tournament on Thursday.
The score read 16-11 at halftime, with neither team able to score more than 10 points in a quarter.
But then it opened up in the later two periods, with Oak Park finding a higher gear. The Chargers got closer in the third quarter but Oak Park shut the door with a 21-point final eight minutes.
JD Slajchert led all scorers with 20 while Mansai Conner was DP’s top man at 16. Brandon Lee and Ron Lee were also in double figures for Oak Park.
Dos Pueblos falls to 3-8 while Oak Park is now 10-6.
