The Dos Pueblos boys basketball team was unable to keep Pacifica’s Sai Magallan from heating up as he hit five three-pointers to lead his team to a 57-50 victory at the Ventura Kiwanis Tournament.
Magallan finished the game with 23 points while Mansai Conner led the Chargers with 16 points.
Pacifica started quickly and built an early lead, but Gerry Perez helped Conner on the offensive end with 10 points, and Jackson Wopat established a defensive presence in the post to help Dos Pueblos climb back into the game.
The Chargers closed the lead to just three points with less than two minutes remaining in the game, but Pacifica capitalized on its opportunities down the stretch while Dos Pueblos came up empty.
The Chargers will continue tournament play tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.
