There will be no shortage of girls basketball in town this week as all eight local high school programs are competing at either the Gold Coast Tournament or the Bishop Diego Tournament.

San Marcos co-hosts the Gold Coast Tournament with Rio Mesa. Santa Barbara and Dos Pueblos, unbeaten entering the event, are in the 10-team mix.

Bishop Diego co-hosts its tournament – also made up of 10 teams – with Carpinteria. Games will be split between the two schools with the championship played in the Brickhouse at Bishop Diego.

The Gold Coast Tournament begins on Wednesday while the Bishop Diego Tournament kicks off tonight.
