Dos Pueblos’ girls basketball team won its fourth straight on Monday with a 73-41 takedown of Righetti.
Jessica Escalante recorded a season-high 24 points to go with seven steals. Chiara DiMarco added 17 points and another three steals while Kristen Gowdy collected 11 points and eight rebounds.
On defense, the Chargers limited Righetti’s NCAA recruit Mariah Cooks to 13 points.
“We did a good job on her,” said Chargers head coach Jelani Hicks.
Gowdy and Talitha Draper shared the defensive assignment on Cooks, who will play at Washington State.
Dos Pueblos shot out of the gates and took a 26-2 lead. Righetti recovered and rallied to 30-13 by the end of the first quarter.
“Second quarter we kind of slowed them down again,” Hicks said.
The Chargers go into the Gold Coast Tournament having won four straight since dropping their season opener. The Chargers open against Saugus on Wednesday.
