The Dos Pueblos High girls basketball ran away from its opponent at the Lompoc Tournament for the second consecutive game, and beat Villanova 74-28.
Jessica Escalante led the Chargers with 21 points and Chiara Dimarco added 11 more.
“Our point of emphasis today was working on our defense,” head coach Jelani Hicks said. “We did pretty good with that.”
In addition to playing excellent defense, Dos Pueblos was efficient on offense. The Chargers made 55 percent of their shots from inside the three-point line, and made 50 percent of all their field goals.
Dos Pueblos (2-0) will continue play in the Lompoc Tournament tomorrow.
