Santa Ynez scored two goals in the final 15 minutes of Thursday’s game with visiting Santa Barbara to record a 2-0 non-league victory.
“It was a frustrating night for us,” said Dons head coach Jeff Johnson, who cited a maddening inablity for his players to convert scoring chances.
“We literally missed over a dozen chances,” Johnson continued. “That’s what happens when you let a team linger around.”
Santa Barbara was not at full strength due to injuries and players on vacation. Because of it, Johnson pulled his team out of next week’s scheduled tournament and doesn’t play again until the 29th against Harvard-Westlake.
