Playing against a Cabrillo team made up mostly of freshman and sophomores, and Santa Barbara High girls basketball team played a fundamentally sound game and earned a 68-15 victory at the Lompoc Tournament.
Melissa Lemus led the team with 20 points, and Ivette Gil added 14 more.
“Defensively we did some good things and didn’t give them second chance shots,” head coach Andrew Butcher said.
The Dons (2-0) will continue tournament play tomorrow at 12:30 against Villanova.
