SBCC defender Morgan Crumpley has been named first-team All-West Region and second-team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Jessica Domenichelli, the second-leading scorer in the state, was a second-team All-West choice. Domenichelli set school records with 27 goals and 64 points this year. The sophomore forward from El Dorado Hills, Calif., is the career record-holder for goals (52) and points (122).
Domenichelli was the WSC North Player of the Year.
Crumpley is a 5-10 sophomore defender from San Diego. She led a defense that ranked No. 4 in the state, allowing 11 goals in 19 games (0.58 per game).
The Vaqueros had one of the best seasons in school history, compiling an 18-3 record and capturing the WSC North title with an 11-1 record. They fell to defending state champion San Bernardino Valley 1-0 on penalty kicks in the first round of the playoffs.
They finished the season ranked No. 3 in the state and 13th in the nation.
“Morgan is a great communicator and leader who reads the game very well and is always composed,” said coach John Sisterson. “Jessica is a natural athlete who understands how to finish. When she’s 1-on-1 with the keeper, she’ll put it away 99 percent of the time.”
