TJ Jackson and Charlie Thompson matched each other with 16 points each for Clovis West to open up the Santa Barbara Holiday Classic on Monday, spurring the Golden Eagles to a 61-39 win over San Marcos.
Clovis West forced the Royals into 19 turnovers and knocked down eight three-pointers on the offensive end. The Golden Eagles hit their stride in the second quarter when they extended their lead by 11 by outscoring the Royals 18-9.
Thayer White led the Royals with 11 points and Christian Widmer added seven. San Marcos plays View Point on Tuesday.
