Dos Pueblos’ girls basketball team piled up 31 steals en route to an 81-17 blowout win over Santa Ynez at San Marcos High School as part of the Gold Coast Tournament.
Chiara DiMarco posted game-highs in scoring(22) and steals(8). Jessica Escalante flirted with a triple-double by collecting 17 points, eight assists and seven steals. Jasmine Mata and Kristen Gowdy both had five steals and were double-digit scorers for the Chargers.
Taryn Ouellette was a good presence off the bench for Dos Pueblos, tallying six points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
The Chargers improved to 6-1 and have won six straight after a season-opening loss. DP faces St. Joseph on Friday.
