The Gold Coast Tournament hasn’t been a great experience for San Marcos’ girls basketball team so far. The Royals lost for the second straight night by double digits, this time in a 65-21 setback to Channel Islands.
The Raiders’ full-court press prevented the Royals from getting into any sort of rhythm.
“It was another tough game for us,” said San Marcos head coach Devin Uyesaka. “The pressure got to us again.”
Channel Islands had four players score in double figures. Liz Gil led San Marcos with eight points.
The Royals have an opportunity for their first win on Friday against Santa Ynez.
“We’re getting better little by little,” Uyesaka said.
