Cate crashed Bishop Diego’s party on Thursday, defeating the hosts of the Bishop Diego Tournament 44-41.
The Rams came from behind in the second half after trailing by as many as eight in the third quarter.
“They were more physical than we were,” said Cardinals head coach Jeff Burich.
Josie McCoy had a big night for the Cardinals. McCoy poured in a career high 29 points on 12-for-21 shooting. She connected on 4-of-6 3-point attempts.
Bishop Diego plays again on Friday against St. Bonaventure while Cate has one game left at the tournament on Saturday.
