St. Bonaventure sent Bishop Diego to its second-straight loss on Friday night, comfortably beating the Cardinals 73-35 in the Bishop Diego Tournament.
The loss puts the host Cardinals (4-3) in Saturday’s third-place game at 2:30, where they will face Providence Hall.
The Seraphs were in control from the start, outscoring the Cardinals 27-8 in the first quarter.
After that, Bishop head coach Jeff Burich felt the Cardinals improved.
“We rebounded better; we just got more physical and that’s what we needed to do,” Burich said.
Josie McCoy had her second-straight strong game, finishing with 16 points, eight rebounds and five steals.
“It’s nice to see her taking advantage,” said Burich.
