The first win of the season came on Thursday for Carpinteria’s boys soccer team as the Warriors defeated Pacifica 2-1 at home.
Edwin Elizarraras converted a penalty kick for Carpinteria’s first goal. Billy Ramirez drew the foul call that set up the PK.
Pacifica answered right away and the scored remained tied through halftime.
Ricardo Arroyo found the back of the net for the game-winner in the 67th minutes
“They played well,” said Daniel Torres of his Warriors. “Pacifica, they’re a very tough Pacifica team.”
The victory evens Carpinteria’s record at 1-1.
The Warriors won’t be home again until January.
