The No. 14-ranked Westmont women’s soccer team (12-16) has received an at-large bid to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. The Warriors will play at No. 13 Cal State San Marcos on Saturday, November 19. The time of the game is to be announced.
The winner will advance with the 15 other opening round winners to the 2011 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship in Decatur, Georgia where the rest of the bracket will be played from November 28 through December 3.

The Warriors and Cougars last played each other on September 11, 2010 at Westmont’s Thorrington Field. The game ended in a 0-0 tie after two overtime periods. Though the two teams have not faced each other this season, they have had six common opponents, all from the Golden State Athletic Conference.
The Cougars posted a 1-0 win at Biola while the Warriors lost at home to the Eagles 1-0. Both teams beat Fresno Pacific on the road, the Cougars by a score of 1-0 and the Warriors by a 3-1 mark. Both teams also beat The Master’s with the Cougars collecting a 1-0 road win and the Warriors a 2-1 win in Montecito.
