The Carpinteria girls volleyball team defeated Fillmore in straight sets to stay in the race for third place in the Frontier League.
The scores for the sets were 28-26, 25-17, and 25-21.
Amy Davis led the Warriors with eight kills. Luna Pate led the team’s defensive effort with seven digs, and Allie Sundara kept pressure on Fillmore with aggressive serves, and finished with seven aces.
“We were a little dead in the beginning,” head coach Katie Dolge said. “You could tell that everyone was a litle tired from yesterday’s Halloween festivities.
But luckily we won the first game and that helped with games two and three.
Carpinteria (4-6 league, 6-10 overall) could still land in third place and qualify for the playoffs depending on results from Santa Clara and Santa Paula.
