UCSB women’s volleyball team did not receive an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday when the 64-team field was announced.
The Gauchos won seven of their final eight regular season games and finished second in the Big West with an 11-5 conference record. UCSB was swept on Saturday night by TCU at the Turkey Time Tournament in San Diego, possibly bursting their bubble.
Big West champion Long Beach State (23-6) opens against the University of San Diego (27-4) and would face the winner of UCLA (24-6) and Maryland – East Shore (24-6) in the next round.
Seven California schools made it in total: UCLA, Stanford, Pepperdine, California, Long Beach State, San Diego, and USC.
UCSB’s record stands at 19-12 overall.
