SBCC sophomore Nicole Bullemer fired a 78 on Tuesday to capture third place in the Community College State Women’s Golf Championships at Kings Country Club in Hanford.
She started on the back nine and shot even-par 36 on the front side with birdies at No. 3 and 8. Her score was the second-best of the day and left her at 14-over 158. She tied for third with Taylor Crandall of Palomar.
Kris Grimes (76-79) of Canyons was the medalist at 155.
“Nicole played great, it was a fantastic way to end her two-year career,” said SBCC coach Chuck Melendez. “She hit a good 3-wood over the green at No. 8 and then rolled in a downhill flop shot for birdie.
“She’s exactly what you’re looking for in a student-athlete. We’re going to miss her next year.”
Palomar shot 317 and edged Glendale for the team title by a stroke, 646-647.
