Moorpark completed a perfect WSC campaign with a 3-0 women’s volleyball sweep of SBCC on Thursday night at Moorpark. The scores were 25-13, 25-14, 25-17.
The 10th-ranked Raiders (20-3, 12-0) didn’t lose a set in WSC North play, going 36-0. The No. 24 Vaqueros (13-10, 10-2) had their five-match win streak halted. SBCC finished second in conference.
Emily Banas had nine kills, Rachel Stehly seven and Heidi Van Den Oever five for Santa Barbara, which still hopes to get an at-large berth to the Southern Cal Regional that starts on Tuesday.
“We didn’t do well serving or passing,” said coach Ed Gover. “We couldn’t get into a rhythm. Give Moorpark credit, they went through the whole conference season without losing a set.”
