Dos Pueblos’ girls volleyball team was stopped from reaching its third CIF championship match in four years on Tuesday, as Los Alamitos proved the stronger team with a 25-19, 25-12, 25-19 sweep in the Division 1-AA CIF semifinals.
“Every facet of their game was unstoppable,” said Chargers head coach Todd Garrett, whose team finishes its season with a 33-8 record.
Los Alamitos improves to 34-3.
“I am so proud of this team,” Garrett continued. “It was special and an amazing ride. I am so fortunate and honored to have been a part of it.”
The Griffins spread around their offensive attack, with JoJo Schnabl, Alijah Gunsaulus, and Jaylen Villanueva all recording double-digit kills.
Los Alamitos will face Newport Harbor in Saturday’s championship match. The Sailors defeated Mater Dei in the opposite semifinal on Tuesday.
