After a record-breaking women’s soccer season, SBCC forward Jessica Domenichelli was selected MVP of the WSC North on Monday in a vote of conference coaches.
The sophomore from El Dorado Hills broke her own school record with 27 goals, the second-highest total in the state. She had four straight hat tricks at the end of October and led the WSC in scoring with 64 points, 12 more than the runner-up.
John Sisterson was named Coach of the Year, after guiding the Vaquero women to their first conference title. SBCC, ranked No. 3 in the state with a 16-2 record, shared the WSC crown with Ventura at 11-1. Sisterson was also voted WSC men’s Coach of the Year.
Nine other Vaqueros made all-conference.
Katie Voss, the No. 7 scorer in California with 16 goals and a school-record 16 assists, was a first-team choice, along with midfielder Jenna Rubin and defenders Morgan Crumpley and Sara Tomas.
Second-team choices included Ali Raack, Nicole Payne, Jo Lawlor and goalie Cheyenne Rodriguez. The Vaqueros had the No. 4 offense (70 goals) and No. 5 defense (10 goals) in Southern California.
Goalkeeper Hannah Zech was an honorable mention selection.
The Vaqueros will host a first-round South Regional playoff match on Saturday.
