SBCC’s Nicole Bullemer recorded an 80 on Monday and is tied for sixth after one round of the Community College State Women’s Golf Championships at Kings Country Club in Hanford.
The sophomore from Dos Pueblos High birdied the 10th hole on the way to a 2-over 38 on the back nine. She’s just four shots behind the leader, Kris Grimes of Canyons.
“This is one of the longer courses we play,” said Vaquero coach Chuck Melendez. “I was proud of Nicole’s effort today. She put herself in good position for the final round.”
Six strokes separate the top three teams. Glendale, the WSC champion, is at 325, followed by Palomar (329) and Sacramento City (331).
Bullemer, who tied for 10th in last year’s State tourney, will tee off at 8:20 a.m. for Tuesday’s final round.
