Dos Pueblos’ Addi Zerrenner was the top performer amongst local runners at the Clovis Invitational on Saturday, placing sixth in the Championship Race in Fresno.
Zerrenner finished with a time of 18:17. Teammate Bryan Fernandez competed in the Division II race and came in ninth with a time of 16:20.

Santa Barbara’s James Sherman was close behind with a time of 16:22, which put Sherman in 11th. Sherman’s race helped the Dons boys place 14th of 29 teams.
Other than Zerrenner, the rest of the DP girls raced in the Division II race. Elaine McClure’s 26th and Camille Patterson’s 53-second improvement from the year before were highlights for the Chargers.
The Charger boys placed seventh overall in Division II. After Fernandez, Ben York came in 18th followed by Max Davis, Dylan Zukin, John Greening and Tyler Bradford.
Mia Owens was Santa Barbara’s top finisher, clocking in at 22:02.
Both Dos Pueblos and Santa Barbara compete next at the second Channel League meet of the season on Thursday at Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura. The Chargers also host the Dos Pueblos Invitational on Friday at Shoreline Park.
