Nicole Bullemer recorded an 80 on Monday in WSC women’s golf tourney No. 5 and freshman Kristin Discipulo shot 81 as SBCC placed fourth at Tierra Rejada GC in Simi Valley.
Canyons and Glendale tied for first at 310, followed by Bakersfield (329), SBCC (337) and Citrus (472). Canyons won the tiebreaker, based on a better fifth-player score. Nicole DeFrancisco of Canyons was the medalist at 73.
“We had little room for error and this wasn’t the kind of performance we needed (in their bid for a Regional playoff berth),” said coach Chuck Melendez. “We missed a lot of short putts.
“We have two of the best teams in the state in our conference and it’s by far the toughest conference in California.”
