The Santa Barbara Education Foundation is hosting a fundraising poker game and silent auction to benefit Santa Barbara High’s athletic program.
An Evening for Athletes is on Saturday, Oct. 8 at QAD, 100 Innovation Place, off Ortega Ridge.
The festivities start with a Texas Hold’Em poker game at 2:30 p.m. There is a $100 buy-in for each player.
The silent action starts at 5 p.m., and tickets are $50.
Santa Barbara High Athletic Director Nan Verkaik said the fundraising program is important in helping all the athletes at the school.
“These kids spend 3-4 hours a day working out, and are on track to become leaders in our community,” Verkaik said. “Help us give all of the athletes the best opportunity to compete and be successful. “Have a fun evening and do your part to help our student-athletes have the opportunity to compete to the best of their ability.”
