Thacher swept the second Condor League cross country on a hot Cate course.
The Thacher girls won with 19 points, with Cate finishing in second place with 45 points.
The Lady Rams were led by senior Adrian Walsh, who finished fifth in 21:36, her best time of the year on the challenging Cate layout. Denali Tietjen was close behind in 6th at 21:40. Sophomore Jasmine Paz also had a good time on a hot day, finishing 14th in 24:39, followed by Grace Dickman in the same time. Meghan Killea stepped up to fifth position for Cate, filling in for some injured and sick runners, and was 17th in 26:28. Rachel Pak (18th, 26:39) and Lisa Ma (20th, 27:45) rounded out the Cate scoring.
The Cate boys dropped a spot in the league, finishing third behind Thacher (25) and Midland (47).
Cate (95) was led by freshman Jeffrey Acheampong, who made a good move in the second half of the race and finished fourth in 18:23. Sophomore Andrew Sinclair was 17th in 19:58, followed closely by senior co-captain Bill Pomerans who was 20th in 20:07. Freshman Daniel Yeom finished his first race on the Cate course 30th in 20:42, while co-captain Jason Pacheco rounded out the Cate scoring by finishing 42d in 21:19.
Cate races Friday at the Dos Pueblos Invitational at Shoreline Park in Santa Barbara.
