Duran Stanley scored a pair of second-half goals and Arman Salimpour added a goal and an assist on Tuesday afternoon to spark SBCC to a 3-0 men’s soccer victory at Moorpark.
The Vaqueros, ranked No. 7 in the state and 11th in the nation, won their fourth straight to improve to 7-1-3 overall and 4-1-0 in the WSC.
After a scoreless first half, Stanley scored in the 49th minute after taking a pass from Salimpour on the left flank. In the 77thminute, Nick Littleton sent a through ball to Stanley, who fought off two defenders and scored in the lower left corner.
Two minutes later, in the 79th minute, Salimpour scored from the top of the box with Davies Kabogoza getting the assist. Salimpour, a freshman from Spring Valley, Calif., made quite an impact after entering the game in the second half.
“He gave us 35 great minutes,” said coach John Sisterson of Salimpour. “Tony Mendoza kept a clean sheet and Ricardo Vazquez played well on defense.”
SBCC plays host to L.A. Mission on Friday at 2 p.m.
