The semi-pro Central Coast Seminoles will open the United Football Alliance League playoffs on Saturday against Gladiators in Orange County. Kickoff is 2 p.m.
The Seminoles ended the regular season with a 29-6 win over the Desperados.
The Seminoles are in their second season. The team consists of players who graduated from local high schools (Santa Barbara, San Marcos, Dos Pueblos, Lompoc and Carpinteria) and athletes from Chicago, Boston, Mississippi and Texas.
Eddie Derras is the head coach, assisted by Bill Wagner (offensive coordinator), and Gil Aguilar (defensive coordinator). Mark Gomez is the general manager and the team owner is Luis Ibarra.
