Jordan Lund won three sets to lead San Marcos to a 12-6 non-league girls tennis win over Cate on Wednesday.
Kinsley Shin and the doubles team of Ricarda Von Meding and Emily Paulson played in their first varsity matches for the Royals.
“We were able to get 15 players in the match today,” said San Marcos coach Alex Sheldon.
Caitlin Mannix of the Royals and Cate’s Mady Snider staged a tight battle in the first round, with Mannix prevailing in a tiebreaker, 7-6
The Royals are 5-5 overall, while Cate falls to 1-5.
