The Providence Hall girls volleyball team found themselves one set away from losing at the Dunn School, but came charging back to win three consecutive sets and earn an important victory.
The scores for the sets were 20-25, 24-26, 25-22, 25-23, and 15-10.
Providence Hall started the first two games slow, going down 10-20 in the first came and 9-17 in the second game before going on runs to make both sets competitive.
“Because of that momentum shifting, the girls stepped on the court for game 3 and were just ready to take the game,” head coach Laura Trudelle said.
Faith Emerson led the way with 14 kills, 12 digs, and no hitting errors. Eight was the magic number for Olivia Barroca who had eight kills, eight digs, and eight aces.
Hannah Park was able to receive a startling number of serves from the Dunn School, and fueled the Providence Hall offense.
The team improved to 8-6 on the season, and the victory is an important step towards the postseason. Providence Hall is not affiliated with a league, and must have a winning percentage of at least .500 to be eligible for the playoffs.
The team has four matches left and plays next at Hillcrest Christian on Thursday.
