The defense scored 21 points and the offense took care of the rest in Cate’s 55-0 victory over Alpaugh at home.
Quarterback and safety Kyle Mayfield had one offensive touchdown, and also returned an interception for a touchdown.
Brewer Ballard also returned a pick for a score, and had a fumble recovery which he returned for a touchdown as well.
Justin Lucchesi flourished with goal-line running duties and had two short runs for touchdowns, while Austin Gallegos also had a rushing score.
All 23 players on the 8-man football squad saw action in the big win.
Cate (2-1) continues their season at Rolling Hills Prep in San Pedro next Saturday.
