First-place Oaks Christian outscored Carpinteria 6-1 in the third period and rolled to a 16-3 win over the Warriors in a Tri-Valley League boys water polo match on Tuesday.
“We were down 7-2 at halftime and thought we were doing all right,” Carpinteria coach Bryan Swarm said.
But the Lions blew the game open in the third.
Alan Chavez had two goals and Ben O’Hara the other, and goalie Jacob Pate made 10 saves.
Carpinteria (9-14, 4-5) plays at Malibu on Friday.
