The Laguna Blanca girls volleyball team defeated Cate in consecutive sets, winning 11-25, 14-25, and 20-25.
“We played a great game but laguna Blanca has way too much firepower,” Rams head coach Greg Novak said. “We were unable to control their hits.”
Cate received solid contributions from Emma Birrell and Tamsyn Walker who each had six kills, as well as Cydney pierce who led the team with nine kills.
While the Owls were in control for the majority of the match, the Rams made a run and briefly took the lead during the third set. They were unable to hold on, and Laguna Blanca held on for the victory.
Cate continues its season on the road on Wednesday against Thacher.
Laguna Blanca will travel to play Cornerstone Christian next Friday.
