Lacey Gonzalez made a home at the service line on Friday, moving in for all of Game 1 in a 25-1, 25-9, 25-19 victory over Ojai Valley School for the Providence Hall girls volleyball team.
Gonzalez served for 24 straight points in the first set, a streak which included 13 aces. Gonzalez served 37 times in the match without making an error and collected 18 aces in total.
“They played well,” Lions coach Laura Trudelle said of her team. “It was a lot of fun to watch.”
Jackie Gonzalez and Keila Mazariegos came off the bench to contribute in the victory.
Of Mazariegos, Trudelle said, “She had a positive attitude and positive presence on the court.”
The Lions, who improved to 6-5 with the victory, have a home match on Saturday at Westmont College. The match against Coastal Christian is scheduled for 11 a.m., which is a recent change from its orginal time.
